[Demo] Real-time MPC on a Munich street

When developing ADAS/AV vehicle control, very often there are many possibilities of design architectures, type of algorithms, and parameters to tune the controller to optimize safety, comfort, and efficiency…

Before choosing the one to be deployed on real car, a good simple and practical way is validating them using Digital Twin models of vehicle dynamics, sensor and traffic environment.

See following demo from Siemens research engineer Jean Pierre Allamaa, done within the EU ELO-X Marie Curie project (https://elo-x.eu/) and in collaboration with Prof. Toshiyuki Ohtsuka (Kyoto Univ.) during a secondment program.

Which car do you prefer, suggestions to improve?

The demo uses Siemens Simcenter Prescan, Amesim, and SimRod vehicle. If you think the street is familiar, indeed that is the Munich city model we developed with Felix Bognar, Prof. Markus Oster (Hochschule München UAS): https://lnkd.in/grg-ptic
